I enjoyed Thailand Today
I visited a Thai restaurant in Yurakucho today.
They serve reasonable and delicious dishes!
I like the posters on the walls of the place,
but I don't want to include other peoples
without their permisions, so I shot the ceiling there.
The image is not monochrome.
See the previous entry, Neon Lights, too.

I enjoyed Thailand Today
I went to a Thai restaurant I like best in Yurakucho, Tokyo.
The neons are on a high place on the exterior wall of the place,
so I try a new way.

1. Mount my camera on a tripod.
2. Hold up a thumb in front of the camera and get the focus.
3. Click on the shutter and hold up the tripod.
4. Adjust the angle and wait 10 seconds.
5. Go back to 1 if you don't like the result. Ha ha.

See the following entry, too.

I found so many of them
at a park nearby today, so I tried it.

Actually it was so hard to try this angle.
Once you touch the stems,
the seeds fell so easily.
I killed many of them,
and again I forgot to make a wish!

Unfortunately it was cloudy,
and couldn't see the blue sky.
I didn't like the colors
so I have added a hint of sepia color here.

White Sakura

The 11th of April, 2009
Originally uploaded by Takahiro Yamamoto

OK, the one on April 9 was supposed to be the last sakura upload.
But when I visited a resevoir in Daitabashi, Setagaya,
which is open to public at this time of year,
I found this pure white sakura,
a different breed from somei yoshino.

Why not shoot them?

At first, I thought of shooting their "faces,"
but realized this POV might be nicer.

We used to call women who looked beautiful from behind "backcian,"
which was a coined word and was pronounced as bakkushan.

These flowers are quite backcians, are they?

Passing Cars, Passing Train

The 15th of April, 2009

My camera can't take a bulb shot.
The longest exposure is one second under the normal setting.

So I use the camera into Star Light mode,
which enables me to select from
a 15-, 30-, or 60-second exposure.
So this is what I always do.

1. Set the mode to Star Light, choosing 15-sec exposure.
2. Release the shutter.
3. Cover the lens with my hand in 2 or 3 seconds.
4. And wait for 12 or 13 seconds, keeping covering the lens.

Very primitive way with a hi-tech digital camera, isn't it? ;-)
